The Calming Blanket FAQs

How does a weighted blanket work?

A weighted blanket relies on the principles of deep pressure stimulation for its therapeutic effects. Basically, the added weight triggers a host of beneficial changes in the body, including increased serotonin and melatonin production, decreased cortisol production, as well as an increased sense of calmness and relaxation, among others.

How do I choose the weight of my blanket?

Occupational therapists recommend getting a blanket that’s 10 to 15% of your body weight. However, if you’re not used to sleeping with heavy blankets, we recommend a lighter version to get started (our 10 or 15 lb blanket). You can also pile some regular blankets on top of you at home to get a feel for the weight before you order.

Are you associated with any other blanket brands?

NO! We are aware of a brand in the US which is mistreating their customers. We are in no way associated with them and are based out of Australia. We are completely trustworthy and have the reviews to prove it. 

How big is the blanket?

Our adult blanket is 198 cm x 122 cm (48” x 78”). The kids’ version is 122 cm x 91 cm (48” x 36”) . Our queen is 203cm x 152cm (60" x 80").

How do I ensure even weight distribution?

If you have a feeling that your blanket is bunched up in the middle, make sure that the inner ties are secured to the cover. 

Is a weighted blanket recommended for babies and toddlers?

We have a kids blanket ideal for children however for safety reasons we don’t recommend any of our blankets for toddlers under 2 years of age. When giving your child a weighted blanket make sure that your child can lift the blanket safely before putting them to bed with it.

Is the Calming Blanket appropriate for warm weather?

It can be. We have worked for months to design a blanket that can be used throughout the year. During the hotter summer months, we recommend using a cotton cover (which can be bought separately).

Is the blanket machine-washable?

Yes, both the cover and the inner blanket are machine-washable. We recommend separating them and washing on a gentle cycle in tepid or warm water. Use only mild detergents and don’t use fabric softeners.

SAFETY - Please do not use the blanket near an open flame. Our blankets are not suitable for children under 2 years of age. If any part of the blanket rips or begins leaking, please dispose of it immediately. Do not consume the beads. We recommend parent supervision when a child is using the blanket.


Delivery & Shipping

Where do you ship from?

We are headquartered in Australia. If you’re shopping from the UK your order will be delivered by DHL in 2 - 6 days depending on how close you are to a major city.

When will I receive my order?

If you’re ordering to a major city, you can expect delivery in 2 - 4 days. For more rural areas, please allow 2 - 6 days.

Delivery is free?

Yes, express delivery to the UK is completely free of charge.


Returns & Exchanges

What is our return policy?

We offer a 30-day returns policy. You will be required to ship the product back to our warehouse at 80 Grove Ave, Marleston, 5033, South Australia. The product must be unused and in its original packaging. Please consider the return postage costs before making your purchase decision.

How can I return something?

One of our customer representatives will reach out to you as soon as possible, usually within the same day. To expedite the process, please include the following information in your initial message:

  • Order number or name used in the order
  • Product you are looking to return
  • Reason why you are considering returning the item

We will ask you a few mandatory questions that avoid people taking advantage of our system, however this information with then enable us to start processing your return immediately. You will also be provided with the return address. We will send you a return shipping label that you can use to ship the product back to us. Upon inspection, we will refund your payment.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your returned item reaches our warehouse, we will issue a refund. Generally, it takes around 2 - 5 days for it to be reflected on your payment method. If it takes any longer, please contact us and we will look into it.

How do I return a used 3z’s Sleep Spray?

The process is the same as for any other product. We only ask you that the bottle is no less than half empty. While we do want to make testing of our products as simple and as fair as possible, we’re sure that you can understand that we can’t issue a refund for a spray bottle that’s empty. If there are any issues with a returned Sleep Spray bottle, we will contact you as soon as it reaches our warehouse and is inspected.

What do you do with returned blankets?

All returned blankets are either recycled or donated to one of our charity partners.

How do I pay for my order?

We accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. You can also use G-Pay to fast-track the payment process. We cannot accept cash or payments over the phone at this point.

Is interest-free finance available?

Not yet! We are working on it though.
